During a heavy thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon, a tree fell on a minibus in the municipality of Burgauberg-Neudauberg (district Güssing) in the south of Burgenland. According to the police, three occupants were killed. Four other people who were in the vehicle were admitted to Oberwart Hospital with injuries.
Nothing is yet known about the identity of the victims.
The region was ravaged by fierce thunderstorms on Saturday. Trees were also knocked down in other places.
