Three Belgian mountaineers taken to hospital after falling into a gorge on Mont Blanc

The accident happened on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, at an altitude of 3,300 meters. In the vicinity of the Gonella mountain hut, according to the Italian rescue services, Belgian alpinists fell into a cleft.

The Italian rescue services, which report that the three Belgian men are 53, 37 and 25 years old respectively, were able to rescue the alpinists from their predicament. They were transferred to a local hospital with hypothermia and injuries.
