Digital platforms for remote work have been reinforced over the last year in Spain and the rest of the world. In this scenario, Microsoft Teams video calls integrate with the virtual workspace of Meta, matrix of Facebook and Instagram.
With this new collaboration, workers from companies that use both systems will be able to access Microsoft meetings and conferences on the Workplace platform. Now they can react to their colleagues’ posts in the virtual workspace, without leaving the Teams app. A new step in the making of the Microsoft metaverse.
The two digital tools share content so that the user does not need to leave one application to enter another. The integration, which will be rolled out gradually, is intended to extend to Meta devices such as Portal smart speakers and is part of the company’s main goal of creating a metaverse for both leisure and work environments.

Employees go from making calls in one application to sending emails in another and sharing documents in a chat in another tool. Teper refers to the union of most of those apps so that workers find everything they need in one space.
This is what the integration between Microsoft Teams or Meta Workplace aims to do. Through this agreement, it will be possible to access meetings or events by videoconference in either of the two applications, it will even be possible to check the recording of an event when it is finished in Workplace.

In the same way, posts that coworkers launch on Workplace, are now available through Microsoft Teams in a window. The news service of this platform is also integrated so as not to have to jump from one application to another to keep up with what is done in the company.
This collaboration will take place next year, when companies can stream Teams meetings and events to Workplace. For now, it is possible test part of the integration downloading the applications for free.
Work on the metaverse
Companies such as Vodafone or Lockton have been testing this union before it was made public and finished rolling out for the rest of the clients of both multinationals.
