This time the Brazilian mutation… With the ban on entry from South America in the UK

It is presumed to be a different type from the existing British and South African mutations.

The British government announced on the 14th (local time) that it has banned entry from South American countries due to concerns about the emergence of a new variant of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

According to Reuters and BBC Broadcasting, British Transport Minister Grant Shaps announced that the entry ban will be applied from 4 am (GMT) on the 15th as evidence of a new mutation appears in Brazil.

Countries subject to entry bans are Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Paraguay. Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, French Guiana and Guyana.

Portugal, a European country, was also included in the ban because of close relations with Brazil.

However, he explained that workers transporting necessities from Portugal to England would be exempt from entry bans.

Minister Shakes said that citizens of Britain, Ireland, and third-country citizens who have permanent residency in the UK can still depart from these countries and enter the UK, but must self-isolate for 10 days.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan revealed that four men and women who entered Haneda Airport from Brazil on the 2nd were found to be infected with Corona 19.

This mutation has some in common with the mutations found in Britain and South Africa, but is considered a different kind.

Last month, when the UK announced the discovery of a COVID-19 mutation, which is up to 70% stronger than the previous one, Europe and dozens of countries around the world have banned or restricted entry from the UK.
