Macy’s famous Christmas windows have been a fixture of the New York City holiday seasons since 1874.

A team of more than 100 workers, including artists, animators, carpenters, electricians and lighting experts, will bring the shop windows to life.

The windows will feature a variety of scenes, including: bustling New York City with bright neon signs announcing thanks in 16 different languages; Macy’s elves hilariously decorating giant letters spelling out “Thank You” in an urban landscape complete with applause in support of lifeguards and essential workers; and even an interactive digital display where visitors can help spell out “Thank You.”

Along with the six windows on Broadway Avenue, Macy’s will also introduce new digital windows on the 34th Street side of the building celebrating the magic of Santa Claus at Macy’s. The windows will give viewers the opportunity to participate in fun and interactive games.

The Macy’s Herald Square holiday windows can be viewed on the Broadway side of the store from November 19 through January 1. Macy’s Downtown Brooklyn will also host a celebration of appreciation to New York City through a classic window display. Macy’s storefronts in downtown Brooklyn will be on display from November 27 through January 1.
