This is the Game of the Year according to the Power Unlimited community!

Voting was possible from December 16 to December 23 at 6:00 PM. It was possible to vote for games released between November 1, 2020 and December 23, 2021. Below are the five games with the most votes!

Ratchet and Clank have been an inseparable duo since 2002 and the two still stand their ground on the PlayStation 5. Rift Apart is one of the first games that really showed what the new Sony console has to offer. Graphically it is one of the best games ever in beautiful 4k with ray tracing and a smooth 60 frames per second. The portals take you to a completely different world in the blink of an eye; a nice showcase of the SSD in the PS5. Fortunately, the gameplay is also very strong. Florian rewarded the game with a 95 and even called it one of the most fun games ever and so the fifth place in the community list is well deserved.-

It Takes Two was the big winner at the Game Awards, where it was named Game of the Year. The game from Hazelight Studios is also well received by Power Unlimited visitors. It Takes Two is the perfect co-op game and supports online and local multiplayer. In fact, collaboration is required. Start It Takes Two with a buddy, your partner or your mother and you will undoubtedly have an hour or twelve of pure fun. The game even has an emotional story that is well worth following. In a world in which we are in danger of growing further apart, It Takes Two is the perfect means to bring people closer together. Marvin gave the game a nice 87 in his review. –

It was perhaps the biggest surprise of all at this year’s E3. Twenty years after Metroid Fusion, Nintendo finally announced a sequel and the conclusion to the two-dimensional Metroid story. Samus is stronger than ever on Nintendo Switch. According to many, Dread is even the best Metroid game ever! It offers super smooth controls, fat bosses and the EMMI robots scare everyone. For many gamers, this was their first foray into the Metroid franchise and it certainly leaves you wanting more! Samuel gave Metroid Dread a 90 in his review. –

Forza Horizon 5 was also unveiled at E3 this year and was released the same year. The Horizon festival travels to Mexico in part 5 and that is a great choice. Mexico proves to be the ideal location and the game world is bigger and more vibrant than ever. Racing, stunts, mini-games: the possibilities in Mexico are almost endless. Forza Horizon 5 is the ultimate playground for racing enthusiasts, but also for racing novices. Graphically, the game is bizarrely beautiful and it just plays wonderfully. Forza Horizon 5 is the excuse to get an Xbox or a fat PC. Forza Horizon 5 got a 96 from Florian in his review.

The Power Unlimited community Game of the Year 2021 goes to Halo Infinite! That’s another wonderful way for Master Chief to celebrate his comeback. After that disappointing gameplay revelation, 343 Industries decided to give the game some extra attention and love and it paid off. The multiplayer of Halo Infinite plays good old-fashioned and the campaign brings old-fashioned action that we are used to from Halo in a new jacket. The open world takes the Halo franchise to new heights and that’s exactly the addition that makes the campaign worthwhile.

The game could of course still use some updates, but with a promised lifecycle of ten years that should be fine. As soon as separate playlists are available in multiplayer and the campaign can also be played in co-op, there will be little to be desired. There’s no question that Master Chief is back, and that’s why the Power Unlimited community was jumping for joy! Wouter gave the game a 90 in his review.

Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, Psychonauts 2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Returnal were well received by the community, but were just short of votes to reach the prestigious top 5. There was also a vote for A2 Racer The Police Strikes Back Remastered, a wonderful choice! That one voice for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Remastered, on the other hand, hurt…
