There have been rumors in recent years that Samsung put his new one Galaxy S – in this case the Galaxy S11 – for a change at the CES. That won’t happen this year either. The CES uses Samsung more as a pure exhibition machine and for the presentation of televisions or white goods. The other well-known manufacturers also mostly do not use the CES for new smartphones. This year has OnePlus after all, something like that announced. The OnePlus Concept Phone is to be shown. As the name suggests, we probably don’t see a cell phone in Las Vegas that will still be available in early 2020.
Apple. Huawei etc. are represented in various forms at the fair – sometimes with their own stand and sometimes with contributions to keynotes and lectures. Hardware is not expected here.
You can find all the news about CES here in our hub, where you can also read what was so popular at the trade fair in 2019:
The networked home, devices that are always connected and controllable via the Internet. This has now become the core business of CES and it should come as no surprise to us if the trade fair in Las Vegas has numerous new products from the fields of cameras, sensors, lights, smart ovens, roller shutters, vacuum cleaner robots and much more.
Mobility, traffic and more
Yes, the CES is becoming increasingly important as a car fair. The big manufacturers are represented there, show technologies, developments but also completely new models. Connected driving, which will also be autonomous in the next step, has recently played a major role at CES. Also in 2020 there should be new demos, demonstrations and further developments to marvel at. This is not the only reason why, in addition to companies such as Mercedes and Co., suppliers and research companies such as ZF Friedrichshafen, Schaeffler or Continental are always represented at the CES in Las Vegas.
The CES – always an indicator
Even if the importance of the fair seems to be decreasing – especially in the 2000s, the CES was a big number with Microsoft as a main player – it is still an important date. The calendar situation in January in particular makes the CES an indicator of what will follow in the course of the very young year. It provides information about which trends the consumer electronics industry is setting in the short term, but also what is in the pipeline in the long term.
