In Milwaukee they are increasingly confident. The stoppage of the season does not seem to have slowed them down. They won the first training game 113-92 to the Spurs and repeated yesterday’s second, beating the Sacramento Kings 123-131, proving that their scoring power is irrepressible for many.
And the good news keeps coming for the Wisconsin franchise. If a few days ago it was Eric Bledsoe who joined the team’s campus in Orlando after a forced absence for having tested positive for coronavirus, in the last hours the turn has come to Pat Connaughton, another laggard because of the positives that came from their tests.
Two weeks behind schedule, Connaughton traveled to Florida on Saturday to join the Bucks’ expedition to Disney World after leaving the coronavirus behind without major problems. He was yet another of the long list of people who pass the virus without any symptoms, which is good for those who have it and bad for those around them due to the impossibility of detecting the infection if it is not carried out by a daily test.
Connaughton, 27, has played 61 games with Milwaukee this season – just one start – averaging 5.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18.3 minutes per night. Despite the fact that his hitting percentage in triples has decreased in recent seasons, presenting a low 32.1% in the 2019-20 campaign, Connaughton continues to shoot most of his shots from the three-point line, in line with the style of play implemented by coach Mike Budenholzer in Milwaukee.
The Bucks, leaders of the East with a record of 53 wins and 12 losses and therefore an impressive 81.5% of victories, will play the last preparation match this Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans and will resume the official competition on Friday night against Boston Celtics (00:30 Spanish peninsular time).
