Chinese authorities report on Monday that a third person has since died from a new mysterious corona virus and that 139 new cases of the virus have been detected.
The coronavirus broke out in December in the east Chinese metropolis of Wuhan, but was also detected in other cities last weekend. Two infected persons are said to have been found in the capital Beijing and one infected person in the province of Guangdong.
Since the virus broke out in December, dozens of people have been cured, how many in total is still unclear.
In addition to China, two infections have also been reported in Thailand and one in Japan. Chinese authorities said they would do everything on Sunday to control the corona virus outbreak, while health authorities around the world are helping to prevent it from spreading.
WHO warns of worldwide spread
The World Health Organization has warned of a possible worldwide spread of the virus.
There is still much unclear about the virus. Thus it is not yet certain that the disease can be transmitted from person to person. According to the researchers, it is therefore too early to raise a big alarm. Yet they are more concerned than a week ago.
The symptoms of the corona virus can range from a cold to a life-threatening form of pneumonia.
Airports in Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States, among others, have tightened their controls to prevent further spread of the virus.
