This Saturday, 39 people were detained in Táchira state for trying to evade epidemiological control and try to enter the Venezuelan territory illegally from Colombia, using unauthorized border crossings to avoid undergoing any type of Covid-19 test, the Bolivarian National Guard reported (GNB) on the social network Twitter.
In @GNBoficial it was published that «34 Cddnos. in the Edo. # Táchira for evading epidemiological controls and trying to enter Venezuelan territory illegally from #Colombia using trails to avoid undergoing any type of #COVID ー 19 test to prevent further contagion and spread ».
Later, the GNB also reported on the social network that the arrest of five other people was achieved for using illegal steps from Colombia to the Táchira state.
Last Friday, the protector of the Táchira state, Freddy Bernal, warned that people who use irregular steps and trails to go from Colombia to Venezuela will be transferred, detained and placed at the order of the Attorney General of the Republic.
To curb the illegal entry of people into the country, the Presidential Commission for Prevention and Combat to Covid-19 created the Special Temporary Comprehensive Defense Operational Zones, in the municipalities of Mara and Guajira, del Zulia, and García de Hevia and Ayacucho, del Táchira .
Likewise, President Nicolás Maduro denounced the entry of compatriots by the trails, to avoid epidemiological cords and carry out the mandatory quarantine.
“They have been paying approximately $ 100 to enter the country, through the trails, which generates an alert, they enter infected.” Situation that, in the opinion of the national president, has caused a recurrence of infection by Covid-19 in various areas of the country.
