A vehicle registered to the Qatari consul general was stolen in Manhattan on Wednesday by a thief who then crashed into multiple vehicles and an open-air restaurant before being arrested, police said.
The vehicle was parked with the keys inside when it was stolen on East 51st Street and First Avenue around 10 a.m., police said.

The thief sped east on East 51st, striking 10 other vehicles and the eating area outside a restaurant before stopping.

The thief was arrested with pending charges, according to police. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital for minor injuries.
The vehicle was registered with the Consul General of the State of Qatar.

The driver of the car had been washing it when it was stolen, according to police.
