The Mayor of Monclova, Alfredo Paredes López, announced the arrival of the Faculty of Medicine in this city, thanks to the investment that the University of Durango will make to build the property for this institution.
In the next few days, the foundation stone will be laid, an event to which the Governor of the State, Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, is invited, to whom the Mayor expressed his gratitude for the support provided during the health contingency.
“We have been bringing this issue up for weeks, it will be a great investment that will benefit Monclova, because the medical degree is in great demand and the kids interested in it have to leave the city to study it or they must even choose another option for not having sufficient resources to pay for their stay in another municipality ”.
He pointed out that the benefit will be for the students but also for the population, since Monclova has always lacked doctors and surely many of the graduates will also stay to develop their careers in this city.
He indicated that the first building of this faculty is expected to be ready by the end of the year, since the promise is to start construction as soon as possible.
He added that Monclova will be strengthened with the arrival of this Faculty, stressing that it is a city that no longer asks anything from large municipalities, as it has good hotels, good restaurants, good shopping centers, good universities and all this makes the city attractive. region to invest and to live.
