An older adult was violently beaten after he threw his keys away from where he was to thwart the theft of his car in Florida.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of the victim’s home, at the intersection of Calle Santa Inés and Jardín Alto. There, an undetermined group of individuals got out of a vehicle and intimidated the victim, who was moving with his spouse.
The victim quickly – and as noted – threw the keys to his vehicle as far as he could, which made it possible to prevent it from being taken away. However, the assailants reacted violently: they hit him on the ground and tried to run him over.
Fortunately, residents of the sector realized what happened and came to the aid of the elderly.

“They wanted them to death,” said Florida Mayor Rodolfo Carter.
“If it is not for the neighbors – because the police did not come here – this would probably end in a homicide and we would have two bodies in the street,” he lashed out.
“People don’t have to live in fear. We are getting used to this being normal ”, concluded the communal chief.
