LIVING lifestyleTuberculosis or TB it can haunt various groups of people at all ages, including young generation. Furthermore, lifestyle changes in this era have triggered many changes in the diseases that hide young people, including tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis is a highly contagious disease that infects the body due to bacteria. Generally, the germs that trigger tuberculosis attack the lungs, although it is possible they can haunt other organs. However, tuberculosis itself begins to haunt young people mainly because of their lifestyle young adult who started smoking at an early age.

“Maybe because of the smoke, but I feel it cough normal. The point is that we must not deny that the new generations do not accept threats. We need to be equally vigilant because it can affect anyone, “said Devy Yheanne, Country Leader of Communication & Public Affairs, PT Johnson & Johnson, at The SDGs National Seminar Series organized by the Bakrie Center Foundation.

Unsurprisingly, Devy admitted that his party is targeting the younger generation to be more interested and involved in TB prevention and control in their respective circles. Also, with the pandemic factor that has deteriorated health facilities over the past 2 years.

“Tuberculosis education must always be done together. Because there is still a lot of inaccurate information on tuberculosis. For 2 decades we have been conducting education, advocacy, funding to support better healthcare facilities, especially in the treatment of tuberculosis. We have performed more than 470,000 treatments for Multi Drug Resistance (MDR) tuberculosis in 153 countries, including 30 countries with the highest level of TB risk, “explained Devy.

Devy went on to say that his party unites initiatives across Asia Pacific to mobilize and empower young people between the ages of 18 and 29 to participate in bringing about the elimination of tuberculosis. One of these is through the gamification of TB Warriors, which aims to educate the younger generation about tuberculosis.
