MONTERREY, NUEVO LEÓN.- Through social networks such as Facebook, various users put on sale a substance known as ‘Wax’, the which is a powerful narcotic made with marijuana leaves.
As if that were not enough, this substance is distributed in cartridges that allow the consumption of the drug through popular electronic cigarettes, also known as vaporizers.
Although, in Mexico, the recreational use of cannabis has already been decriminalized, the sale of this plant and its derivatives is still considered a crime under Mexican law.
Even the simple presence of these products in the Marketplace is an infringement of the platform’s community standards, it is for this reason that the sellers of these cartridges use terms such as “gold ink” or “gold ink pen” to be able to circumvent the Facebook censorship.
The price of a cartridge already equipped with its ready-to-use battery is between 1,000 and 1,300 pesos.
Uber and Didi drivers transport drugs without knowing it
With total impunity, pens loaded with ‘Wax’ are sent home by dealers, who take advantage of the App Deliveries option like Didi or Uber, this according to the testimony of a consumer whose identity is kept anonymous to preserve its integrity.
During an interview for El Horizonte Multimedia, the young consumer reported that to obtain the vaporizer loaded with ‘wax’, all he had to do was contact the seller through Facebook, make the bank transfer and provide an address.
Obviously, at no time was he questioned about his age. What seems to confirm that these substances could be available to minors.
