Famatina. Preserving historical places
The Municipality of Famatina completed this work, recovering a historic place that will remain open to tourism.
The Mayor of Famatina, Alberto Godoy together with the Provincial Deputy, Ismael Bordagaray, Vice Mayor, Santiago Mercado, Councilors Nicolás Quinteros, Vanessa Ruiz, Daniel Herrera and Municipal Delegate Campanas, Oscar Herrera, visited the restoration of the emblematic Mill “San Francisco”, in its first part in charge of the municipal administration, framed in the XIII ° Celebration of the “Day of Bells”.
The Santa Cruz District Delegate, Miguel Herrera, President of the Culture Commission Juan Antonio Moreno, members of said Commission, Director of Public Works Leonardo Llerena, Head of Public and Private Works, Claudio Troncoso, Director of Social Development also accompanied on the occasion , Andrea Cuevas, educational and intermediate institutions and neighbors.
History
Prof. Adriana Despa de Maza together with Mrs. Lidia Juárez de Herrera, gave the words of welcome to the highest departmental authorities and the residents present, who made a historical review of the Mill “San Francisco and the life and work of Don Juan Nieva , its previous owner, today currently belonging to the Campanas Culture Commission.
The members of the Campanas Culture Commission thanked the Municipality of Famatina in the management of Mayor Alberto Godoy, Deputy Prov. Ismael Bordagaray and Vice Mayor, Santiago Mercado, for the restoration of the Mill “San Francisco” after the fire caused in the year 2014.
Value what is ours
The Mayor Alberto Godoy highlighted the work that year after year, he carries out jointly with the Campanas Culture Commission, expressing that it is a special day for the Campanenses, revaluing our culture, giving a greater boost to all that is the Heritage that it has. the Department and this Commission.
In this first stage, the renovation of the “San Francisco” Mill has been carried out, it is worth highlighting the municipal personnel who have intervened, the Municipal Delegate, Director of Works, Manager of Public and Private Works and personnel in charge, where we assume the commitment from our administration in the restoration of the same, in the face of the fire, where without a doubt we will continue with the next stages that are already projected to be able to achieve the totality of the remodeling of this space that has been opened to tourism and also to production.
The mayor of Famatina valued the work of unity and consensus, from the Commission, executive and legislative, seeking the welfare and progress of all, he concluded.
From the Administration of Public and Private Works, the works carried out in this first stage were detailed, with the demolition of the roof, change and reconditioning of poles, placement of cane and pipework, plating and perimeter cord to tack the sheet metal, reconditioning of wall , achieving 76 m2 of roof restoration, electrical installation and total cleaning of the property.
The place will remain open to the public and particularly to tourists visiting the town.
