The Palace of the Noble City Council of La Antigua Guatemala requests support from citizens to come to the collection center located in the Municipality of Santa María de Jesús from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This, to collect supplies for forest firefighters, first responders and volunteers who work to control and liquidate the fire on the Agua volcano.

Since at 6 a.m. this day, several bodies of municipal and departmental lifeguards were present at the Unified Command Post (PCU) in the Municipality of Santa María de Jesús, in Sacatepéquez, to begin the work of suffocating the forest fire on the Agua volcano, which started early Wednesday morning.

To that extent, the provisions collected will be distributed among the people who are at work. These are the supplies that people can donate:

Pure water, cold rations: cans of tuna, beans, sardines, cookies, juices, non-perishable foods for immediate consumption.

For its part, the National Council of Protected Areas (Conap), in assistance to the forces fighting the fire in the Agua Volcano, issued a similar statement to request the support of the neighbors so that they can approach the Municipality of Santa María de Jesús with:

Pure water, oral hydration serums, dehydrated fruits, cereal bars, chocolate bars, sweets, panela, dehydrated bananas/plantains, crackers, energy drinks, canned tuna with “easy opener”, canned sausages with “easy opener†, canned beans with “easy opener†.
