Three tremors were recorded tonight in the area known as the Mona Canyon, according to data from the Seismic Network.
Another was reported in the Mona Passage.
The first, and the strongest, had a magnitude of 4.2 and occurred at 8:02 p.m., 57 kilometers north, north-west of Desecheo. Its latitude was 18.8 degrees north and its latitude was -67.6 degrees west, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
This earthquake was followed by one of magnitude 4.0 in the Mona Passage, 33 kilometers from Desecheo. It happened at 8:11 p.m. at a latitude of 18.44 and a longitude of -67.78. It was 10 kilometers deep.
The third occurred a few seconds later with a magnitude of 3.6 to 28 kilometers of Desecheo in the Mona Canyon at 18.6 degrees north and -67.3 degrees west. Its depth was 41 kilometers.
Another, of magnitude 4.1, occurred 64 kilometers from Desecheo at latitude 18.92 and longitude -67.69, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
A fifth tremor was reported at 9:42 p.m. with a magnitude of 4.19 and a depth of 43 kilometers. Its distance was 51.98 kilometers from Desecheo.
All were reported senses.
There is no warning, surveillance or tsunami warning.
