“They point the finger at Cristiano Ronaldo, but he is playing with idiots”

Dean Saunders argues that Cristiano Ronaldo is not primarily responsible for yet another negative season starring Manchester United. After the draw against Burnley (1-1), recorded on Tuesday night, the former Welsh international, who represented Benfica in the 1998/99 season, criticized the way the Red Devils have built their squad.

“At one point they could be winning 3-0, but they seem to run away from it. Then an adversity comes along and they start to crumble. If you asked Ronaldo, ‘Who are the worst midfielders you’ve played with in your career?’ Fred and McTominay can’t be far behind. People start pointing the finger at Ronaldo, but he is playing with some idiots and others are not on the same wavelength,” said Dean Saunders, in statements to the portal talkSPORT.

Remember that Cristiano Ronaldo started the game on the bench and only came on the field in the last 25 minutes, being released in place of Cavani. The Portuguese striker was blank for the fifth consecutive game, something that had not happened since 2010, this at club level.
