Puebla, Puebla, August 12 (Central Newspaper) .- To my beautiful boy They killed him, they killed him very ugly “says Ana María Tadeo, mother of Manrique, the 38-year-old man who was lynched by a mob of a thousand people in San Marcos Tlacoyalco, in the municipality of Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez.

Both Ana María and Elfego Mezquita, Manrique’s parents, demand justice. And they insist that their son was no kidnapper.

I want justice, that justice be done, that those who killed my son, that those who killed my son in such a ruthless way that they pay, that they pay … My beautiful child, they killed me, they killed me very ugly , my child, you know more than anyone you know that he was not a kidnapper, you know it, “he said in an interview.

Manrique was originally from the municipality of Ángel R. Cabada, located in the area of Los Tuxtlas, in Veracruz. He was barely two months after visiting his family. He had two brothers and only studied until the third grade. He had a daughter who lived in Michoacán with her first partner.

For 9 years he lived in Tehuacán, Puebla, where he worked as part of a wiring company that was a supplier of Megacable. In Tehuacán she had a stable life with his current partner. Until they sent him to the San Marcos Tlacoyalco area, in the municipality of Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez.

Manrique’s family, in Veracruz, already has his body, which was given to his brothers. Just yesterday they traveled with his remains to the population of Ángel R. Cabada and only ask the Puebla authorities for justice.

It is the greatest pain, seeing those images and imagining to my son how much pain he suffered at that moment and later when they burned him (…) As long as these people are not punished as they should be punished, cases like this will continue to happen, right now we went we, after a while they will be others… ”, warned Ana María and Elfego.

It is expected that this day it will be confirmed that the Public Security Secretariat of the State of Puebla takes control of the municipality of Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez, because only in the town of Tlacoyalco there are 7 police officers for more than 13 thousand inhabitants.

As Periódico Central reported, at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, Manrique was at the auxiliary board of San Marcos Tlacoyalco and was reported to the Auxiliary Police near the sports field of that town for a fight.

When the auxiliary police officers arrived at the scene, they found a group of people with sticks in their hands who had him surrounded. He said he worked for a cable company in the city of Tehuacán.

And although no one said what they accused Manrique of and they did not directly point him out for any crime, members of the Auxiliary Police reviewed him in front of the people he was fighting. Later, they transferred him to the town’s headquarters and detained him for several hours without charge.

At 9 o’clock at night, a rumor spread among the neighbors that the detainee was an alleged kidnapper of children, and they rang the church bells asking the people to meet. Regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic, about a thousand people gathered in front of the auxiliary presidency of San Marcos Tlacoyalco.

Between shouts and slogans, people said that they would not allow the police to take the alleged kidnapper. Neighbors began to attack the auxiliary presidency with stones and sticks.

Later, with an official unit, they broke down doors, walls and managed to enter where the detainee was. Elements of the municipal police and the director of Public Security of the municipality arrived at the scene, but were beaten.

When they extracted the detainee with blows, they threw stones at him until his skull was smashed. People asked for fuel and did not allow access to paramedics for their pre-hospital care, although an ambulance arrived.

Meanwhile the crowd watched the man’s agony until the man lost his life. Several minutes later they dragged the body in front of the municipal command, threw flammable liquid at it and set it on fire.

Yesterday Central Newspaper reported that the lynched man was innocent, he was identified as Manrique Mezquita Tadeo, he was 38 years old and, in effect, he worked laying cables for a Megacable supplier in Tehuacán.

His remains were handed over to his brothers yesterday and his parents are expected to bury him today in the Veracruz municipality of Ángel R. Cabada.
