Justice charged Carlos Birri, a nurse who participated in two mobilizations that took place in Oliva, which grouped up to a caravan of hundreds of vehicles, last Friday and Sunday.
Estela Gimenez, deputy secretary of the Union of Health Workers (UTS), confirmed the data and stated: “This accusation is very serious for participating in a caravan in defense of public hospitals; the community of Oliva is running out of access to health, it is unheard of for the worker to have this happen in a democracy ”.
Giménez said Birri was informed that he was charged as the alleged instigator of the mobilization. The call was mainly via social networks. Birri is an employee of the mental health Vidal Abal hospital.
This newspaper repeatedly tried to contact the prosecutor Mónica Biandrate, to clarify the accusation. But there was no response so far.
The protest was organized by Self-Summoned Nurses. They argued that the mobilization was carried out because they feared for the future of the labor sources of the Vidal Abal provincial psychiatric hospital and for the situation of the Zonal Hospital, when they denounced that there is a transfer of personnel that has already begun to take effect towards Villa María.
“There were two peaceful and large-scale marches with the aim of requesting an improvement in the public health of the city. A present and combative population was observed, ”said journalist César Beltramone.
Several merchants joined the protest but for another reason: they demanded for greater flexibility in their activities, given the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus outbreak that affects this city and area and has already become the largest in Córdoba.
A few days ago, business and institutional entities in the city presented a note to the municipality asking that more activities be enabled.
