According to the authority’s report, of the 35 illegal immigrants there were seven Mexicans, nineteen Guatemalans, seven Ecuadorians, one Nicaraguan and one Honduran.

The 35 people were returned to Mexico in accordance with Title 42 of Section 265 of the United States Code. The prosecution is still pending for a Mexican citizen who was the caretaker of the house.

“Our integrated targeting teams in the El Paso sector focused on disrupting human trafficking continue to hamper the attempts of human smugglers to harbor illegal immigrants, sometimes in deplorable and substandard living conditions,” said the patrol officer in El Paso Sector Chief, Gloria I. Chavez.

The El Paso sector has seen a significant increase in the number of single adults crossing the border illegally in fiscal year 2021. Compared to the family unit crisis of fiscal year 2019, there has been a 261 percent increase for single adult encounters. As of the end of May 2021, the El Paso sector has found 86,536 single adults.
