The vaccination campaign in Switzerland has stalled somewhat. The boys in particular are skeptical of the spades. This is another reason why Health Minister Alain Berset (49) exchanged ideas with influencers on social media. Now American dating app giant Bumble is rushing to the aid of the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG).

The company is launching a vaccination campaign in Switzerland, as Blick has learned exclusively. Bumble – the number 2 dating app behind Tinder in this country – confirms the intentions: “To support the government’s vaccination campaign in Switzerland, Bumble will introduce new functions that encourage people to get vaccinated this summer.” The new feature will be available in the app in the coming weeks.

These are the functions
The details should cause a stir in the unvaccinated. Bumble will prominently advertise the features on the app. Every woman and man who is looking for a date on the app should be able to add an “I am vaccinated” profile sticker to their own profile. But that’s not all: people should even state their vaccination preferences. So whether you want to meet only with vaccinated users or not.

With the vaccination campaign, the US giant wants to encourage young Swiss people to take the spades. “We know that by the beginning of summer, singles want to regain control of their dating life,” says Naomi Walkland, Bumbles Vice President for Europe. “For two-thirds of the people on Bumble, the Covid conversation is right now, so it’s important to make it easier for them to feel comfortable and safe on a date.”

That is what the BAG says
In Bern, people are surprised by the Bumbles vaccination campaign. “This was not discussed with the BAG,” says campaign manager Adrian Kammer. “We basically support all efforts that lead to an increase in vaccination coverage in the population,” he continues.

Depending on the target group, the BAG already uses a wide variety of channels, including Tiktok and Instagram.
