The global count of users of Galician residences with covid-19 has risen again this Sunday to a total of 466. The bulk of this rise is due to the detection of an outbreak in the Nosa Señora do Carme de Sarria (Lugo), with 47 elderly and three affected workers.
This is reflected in the daily balance of cases prepared by the Ministry of Social Policy and Health, updated late this Saturday, where they appear 69 new cases of coronavirus among the elderly in these centers.
In addition to the outbreak with 47 affected users in Sarria, they are added to the list 11 other seniors from DomusVi Carballo, six from the Sampedro II Community House in A Merca, two in the Sampedro Community House -both belonging to the same complex-, one in DomusVi Laraxe de Cabanas, one in San José de Arzúa and another in the Vilar de Saints.
In the same way, another 37 elderly people distributed between the Ribeira residence (11), DomusVi Vimianzo (10), Paz y Bien de Tui (5), DomusVi Carballo (3), San José are withdrawn from the calculation due to having cured of the covid de Arzúa (3), residence of A Pastoriza (2), residence of Burela (1), the Asilo de Ribadeo Hospital (1) and the Santa Teresa de A Cañiza center (1).
Also, Sanidade notified on Saturday night the death of a user of the Ribadeo Asylum Hospital, which also comes off the balance of the Xunta.
466 elderly infected in residences in Galicia
After these variations, the residences in Galicia have a total of 466 elderly people diagnosed with covid-19. The Quercus de Leiro center –intervened since Friday by the Xunta– and DomusVi Carballo are the main focuses, with 69 users with coronavirus each.
These are followed by the Ribeira residence, with 49 cases; Our Lady of Mount Carmel of Sarria, with 47; the Santa María de Verín Home, with 36; My Casa de Pazos de Borbén, with 26 infected users; Peace and Good of Tui, with 25; and the DomusVi Vimianzo, with 23.
They also have elderly with coronavirus in San José de Arzúa (17), the residence and apartments of A Pastoriza (13), the geriatric hospital of Bande (14), the San Bartolomeu de Xove (10), the residence of Vilardevós (9), the Virxe da Clamadoira de Muíños center (8), O Casón de Moeche (6), the Sampedro II Community Housing in A Merca (6), the Santa Teresa Jornet center in A Coruña (5) and the Asilo Hospital in Ribadeo (5).
With four users with covid are the Vilar de Santos Community Housing and Las Angélicas de Vigo; with three, the Sampedro de A Merca Community Housing; with two, DomusVi Laraxe, the San José de Ourense residence, the Campolongo de Pontevedra and the Stella Maris de Nigrán; and with one case each, the Ballesol de A Coruña, Mi Casa de Ferrol, DomusVi San Lázaro de Santiago, the San Simón de Teo, the Burela, DomusVi Monforte, the O Incio nursing home, the Fogar Blanco Amor de Boborás, Our Lady of Los Dolores de Forcarei and the Moledo de Vigo center.
Infected workers
As for workers in Galician residences, the total number of infected drops to 218 after 10 positives and 12 discharges in the last hours.
Of new infections among employees, three correspond to the outbreak of Nosa Señora do Carme de Sarria, two with the Bande residence, one with the Sampedro II Community House, one in the Bribes de Cambre residence and another in Padre Rubinos A Coruña. On the part of the discharges, four are from La Paz and Bien de Tui, another four from the Ribeira nursing home, one with DomusVi Vimianzo and another with Santa Teresa Jornet from A Coruña.
According to the last balance of the Xunta, the most affected staff continues to be that of Paz y Bien de Tui, with 28 positives; followed by DomusVi Carballo, with 21; Quercus de Leiro, with 15; DomusVi Vimianzo, with 13; and San José de Arzúa, San Bartolomeu de Xove and Fogar Santa María de Verín, with 10 workers each with covid.
The rest of the centers that appear in the list have less than a dozen cases among employees.
Disability centers
In the centers of attention to the disability (CAPD) of Galicia, the balance of this Sunday appears with 81 infected users after two new positives at the Pai Menni center in Betanzos. These facilities continue to be the most affected, with a total of 49 cases.
The Nuestra Señora de Fátima and Cristo Rey de Crecente center also has an important outbreak, with 29 infected users. To these are added the individual cases at the Imserso residence in Bergondo, at Ricardo Baró de Oleiros and at DomusVi Bóveda.
Regarding the workers of these facilities, the count remains at 38 affected: 20 in Pai Menni, six in Nuestra Señora de Fátima and Cristo Rey de Crecente, three in the Imserso residence in Bergondo and two in the Aspace de Sada, the the same ones that are in the Domusvi de Bóveda.
In addition, there is a case in the CAPD of A Coruña, another in the Casa Lamastelle de Oleiros, as well as in the Aseme de Chantada, the Ricardo Baró and the San Vicente de Paúl de Lugo.
