Independent feminist platforms on the Island denounced the murder of a Cuban mother of three minor children in the province of Camagüey.
According to a statement shared on social networks by the platform IYesI Believe in Cubathe woman was identified as Elisbeidi Tamayo Peña, 39 years old, who would be the 16th victim of feminicide in Cuba so far this year.
The woman, whose death was also reported by the Gender Observatory of the feminist magazine Alas Tensas (OGAT), was allegedly murdered on April 11 in the municipality of Sibanicú, at the hands of her ex-partner, father of her youngest daughter. the woman.
“We send our condolences to her 3 children, who are minors and the youngest is the result of the relationship with the aggressor. Our condolences also go to other family members and close people.”
The sources consulted by the feminist platforms affirm that the aggressor took his own life after committing the unfortunate act.

The platforms stressed that the information was obtained thanks to complaints made by the community, since the Castro authorities do not usually report any of this in their media.
As a consequence, they recognize that the under-reporting of femicides on the Island during 2024 may be wrong, since there is a possibility that the true number of this type of crimes is much higher.
In that sense, the feminist platform indicated that there were five cases that were pending verification, since this requires access to the investigation carried out by the National Revolutionary Police (PNR).
These cases are those of an elderly woman who died in Esperanza, Villa Clara; a woman identified as Irma, who died in Havana; a woman named Teresa Moliner Bosa, also in Havana; a woman identified as Tania Reyes, from Santiago de Cuba; and a woman named Samantha Heredia Odrens, who was also murdered in Santiago de Cuba.
