Los Angeles law enforcement raised a harsh criticism against the TMZ Sports news portal for reporting on Sunday the death of the ex-NBA ex-Kobe Bryant before they even managed to report the accident to his relatives and the other families involved in the tragedy.
Bryant died Sunday with his daughter and seven other people when the helicopter in which they were traveling for a basketball game of the team of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Maria, and two other girls flying in the aircraft.
According to a report from the CNN news portal, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva criticized the media for publishing the death report even though they had not publicly identified the people traveling in the helicopter.

“It must be an extreme disrespect to know that a people you love has died and you find out about TMZ,” Villanueva told CNN. “It is totally inappropriate.”
The vicesheriff, Tim Murakami, also expressed sadness over what happened through his Twitter account.

“I was still receiving details of what happened when the news media reported that Kobe was one of the victims. I can understand the fact that they have the advantage of knowing what happened, but please give us time to notify your family members. It’s very hard to know that information from a news medium. ”
The truth is that TMZ apparently has a very safe source that allows you to report first-hand deaths of famous people in Los Angeles. It was they who first reported the deaths of singer Michael Jackson and singer and actress Whitney Houston in 2009. They also reported in firstfruits the death of Pince three years ago.
