Morocco recorded 1,230 new cases of coronavirus infection on Sunday, bringing the toll to 33,237 confirmed cases, announced the Moroccan Ministry of Health.
The number of deaths from the coronavirus stood at 498, while that of people declared cured rose to 23,347, a ministry official said in his daily press statement.
These new cases were detected in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (411 cases), Marrakech-Safi (335), Fès-Meknes (171), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (144), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (71) , Draa-Tafilalet (55), Béni Mellal-Khenifra (27), Souss-Massa (6), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (5), l’Oriental (4) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1), said the ministry.
According to the ministry, 935 of the 1,230 new cases were diagnosed as part of the follow-up of contact cases; the incidence of the disease is 91.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Morocco. F
