The legendary disco “Grand Multiplace” in Sunny Beach, which until 13-13 years ago was the most popular nightclub on the Black Sea coast, is being sold due to accumulated debts of the owner Evelin Georgiev, “Flagman” reported.
It was built at the beginning of the century on the Spanish model – with themed clubs, modern interior and unprecedented effects. For a short time it became a real sensation.
The beginning of the end came on August 25, 2004, when the mythical mafia boss Joro Iliev was executed at the central outer booth of the Buddha Bar. He was shot in the heart by a sniper, and to this day the murder remains unsolved.
Many are adamant that the execution was organized by Rayko Alexiev-Blood and carried out by Krassimir Stanchev-Legionera. However, no serious evidence in this direction has been gathered, and this is one of the cold files that will remain closed forever.
Four years after the death of the boss, the disco was sold to Evelin Georgiev, who changed the name of the complex to “Grand de Luxe” so as not to be associated with the criminal case.
Finyo, as Georgiev is known in the business community, is a Swedish citizen and participates in about 15 Bulgarian companies. He successfully developed the Selena nightclub brand, but after 2011-2012 his business began to decline. — Even in the first government of Boyko Borissov, the National Revenue Agency imposed Georgiev under serious monitoring because it owed over BGN 1.5 million for insurance and unpaid taxes.
In recent years, several competitive nightclubs have been opened in Sunny Beach, the interest in this disco has drastically decreased and in 2016 it was the last one where he worked.
Today the building is in poor condition. From the announcement of the private bailiff Ivelina Bozhilova it is clear that its total area is 3200 sq.m., and the initial auction price from which the sale will start is BGN 4.5 million. The money will be used to cover debts to creditor №1 – Unicredit Bulbank and the Municipality of Nessebar – for local taxes and fees, unpaid for years.
