Have you ever wondered who is the most listened to artist from Córdoba? Data varies according to reports, but between 50 and 80% of Spaniards have the streaming as the most common means by which they listen to the music they like. And, although Spotify is not the only online platform that exists, it turns out to be the favorite of the Spanish, duplicating the next (Apple Music).
And the Swedish company founded in 2006, so criticized for the low economic return it brings to artists (and, lately for other types of controversies), allows you to check the monthly listening data in the profiles of each artist, which gives an idea, if not a definitive one, of who are the most popular musicians in Córdoba.
A ranking that is headed by far by the artist India Martínez, who has more than three million monthly listeners on the platform. There is no active artist or project from Córdoba that comes close to Martínez in number of listeners (with the exception of a distinguished trio, as we shall see).
Second place goes to a mythical band, Medina Azahara, who continue to fill stadiums, placing records among the best sellers and adding more than 400,000 listeners per month. Third place goes to Fuel Fandango, the project by Córdoba-born Nita, which exceeds 370,000 monthly listeners.
Then comes the most important Cordovan guitarist in history: Vicente Amigo, who exceeds 330,000 monthly listeners despite the low media profile that his figure maintains. The music, in his case, speaks for itself. They are followed by Los Aslandticos, with more than 260,000 monthly listeners.
In sixth place is Lin Cortés, the singer and composer from Córdoba, who has a monthly audience of more than 250,000 people. Behind him is the singer María José Llergo, who has just won the Goya for Best Song, and who exceeds 230,000 monthly listeners.
Behind her, El Duende Callejero, a very young project, but with a significant drive, exceeding 200,000 monthly listeners, and the Cordoban singer Vega, who has just published white blackbirdand which is close to 130,000 monthly listeners.
The list of the ten active Córdoba projects with the most listeners is closed by the veteran Mario Díaz, who is close to 120,000 monthly listeners (not counting those corresponding to the repertoire he contributed to Los Aslandticos).
Although, if there is a group from Córdoba that continues to accumulate listeners on Spotify and the rest of the platforms without the need to release new music, that is Las Ketchup, who still today, when they celebrate 20 years of Aserejécontinue to add 1,300,000 monthly listeners on the Swedish platform.
