These are the most expensive and cheapest supermarkets in the main cities of Spain

The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has published this Monday its well-known annual analysis on the price of supermarkets in Spain, which has yielded the data that Mercadona and Alcampo are the two large supermarkets that have increased prices the most since the start of the pandemic, while Carrefour is the only one who has lowered them and The English Court has kept them.

But, what happens by provincial capitals? The OCU has also established a list of the most expensive and cheapest stores in each provincial capital and important city of the Spanish geography, also incorporating densely populated areas such as Madrid Sur and the Corredor del Henares in the Community of Madrid or Bajo Llobregat and Badalona-Santa Coloma in Barcelona.

As can be seen on the map, there are cities where savings can be greater depending on the supermarket chosen and others where there is less potential savings.
