“During the pandemic children’s space is limited, such as school activities going online, it is not possible to do activities with friends and teachers directly,” he said at the Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) webinar entitled ‘We (Adults) Vaccinated, Children Protected ‘Friday 12 March 2021.

Maria said it is very important to socialize the Covid-19 vaccine to all people to complement the efforts that have been done so far. One of them is to prioritize the implementation of health protocols and 3 T, namely (Tracing, Testing, Treatment).

Moreover, at this time there are also many hoaxes or hoaxes about vaccinations COVID-19, which can predispose people to doubt the benefits of vaccination or even unwillingness to be vaccinated.

There are several hopes expressed by the children. This hope was gathered by the Wahana Visi Indonesia team. One of the children, Roslinda (15 years) from East Sumba, hopes that all adults are willing to be vaccinated. That way, the pandemic can end soon and children can return to their youthful eyes at school. “” Distance learning is very difficult for children in the village. Not all areas have internet signal, besides that not all families have cell phones, “said Roslinda.

Another child from Sambar Regency, West Kalimantan, Sofia (16 years), said some of her friends’ parents lost their jobs since the Covid-19 pandemic. There is also a friend’s father who works in Malaysia. When the pandemic broke out, the friend’s parents were laid off from their jobs. “When their children want to seek treatment because they are sick, they are having difficulties with money. I hope the pandemic will end soon so that parents who have lost their jobs can work again,” said Sofia.

Another child from South Nias, Alfred (11 years) expressed a similar sentiment. According to him, if adults want to be vaccinated, they will be able to return to school comfortably. “I miss seeing my friends and teachers,” said Alfred.

A child from Surabaya, Aufa (14 years), said he knew the Covid-19 vaccine from television. He hopes that the existing vaccine can prevent transmission of COVID-19. Hopefully there will be no more transmission of COVID-19. “This vaccine is guaranteed to be healthy, safe and lawful. So my message is, don’t be afraid to be vaccinated,” Aufa said.

Acting Director of Health Surveillance and Quarantine Prima Yosephine said to achieve herd immunity, or population immunity, all adults must be vaccinated. “We encourage no one to refuse vaccination. The fewer people who are vaccinated, the less the barrier or protection for those who are not vaccinated, such as children, will decrease, ”said Prima.

The government also continues to strive to accelerate vaccination by purchasing vaccines from abroad that meet the criteria, conducting bilateral cooperation, developing the Red and White Covid vaccine, and collaborating with international institutions. “Together, we support the COVID-19 vaccination program. Don’t be afraid, don’t be fooled by hoaxes. Take advantage of the vaccine opportunities properly. By getting vaccinated, we protect our children,” said Prima.
