There was a protest against tax increases and government policies in Tammsaare Park

At the procession and demonstration organized by the Estonian Central Party “No to lies, no to tax increases by the Reform Party!” approx. 700 people participated who are not satisfied with today’s actions of the Government of the Republic to raise various taxes and cut subsidies for large families.

“The Center Party stands up in the Riigikogu to ensure that money is not taken away from children and families and that the lying government cannot introduce a tax increase for which they did not ask for a mandate in the elections,” said the Chairman of the Center Party Jüri Ratas. “High inflation has reduced the livelihoods of families and additional tax increases will increase the number of people living in poverty. Before the elections, the Reform Party promised to raise the average old-age pension to 1,000 euros, but they cannot fulfill this goal.”

Vice-chairman of the Center Party and mayor of Tallinn Mihail Kõlvart said that the Reform Party government has turned its back on local governments. “The redistribution of existing money is not a sustainable solution. This shows that the country lacks the capacity to support regional development at the national level and lacks a long-term vision for regional development. The state also does not have an adequate overview of the cost of tasks performed by municipalities. Unlike the government, which is abolishing free county public transport, the city of Tallinn will not ask for fares for driving,” confirmed Mihhail Kõlvart.

In addition to Jüri Ratas and Mihhail Kõlvart, the chairman of the Center Party faction of the Riigikogu spoke Tanel KiikMember of the European Parliament It’s Toommember of the Riigikogu Jaak Aabmember of the board of the Estonian Association of Families with Children Katrin Kiiskowner of Saidafarm OÜ Juhan Särgava and head of the Railway Workers’ Union Oleg Chubarov. He took care of the musical interludes Eric Krieger.
