Golkar Party Registers 580 Legislative Candidates for 2024 Elections

Jakarta

Golkar Party officially registered the 2024 legislative candidates (bacaleg) with the KPU today. The Golkar Party handed over 580 legislative candidates to the DPR RI.

“Today tonight we are submitting the files of 580 prospective candidates for the DPR RI from 84 electoral districts,” said Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party Ahmad Doli Kurnia in a press conference at the KPU, Sunday (14/5/2023).

Of the 580 registered legislative candidates, there are the names Rian Ernest to Ridwan Kamil’s wife, Atalia Praratya. Meanwhile, Golkar is targeting 116 seats.

“Pak Ridwan Kamil’s wife is a candidate,” said Doli.

“Targeting at least 20%, so that’s around 116 seats, hopefully that can be achieved, yes, at a minimum,” he added.

Doli revealed that Golkar Chairman Airlangga Hartaro did not register as a candidate. In addition, Golkar cadres who served as ministers were also not registered as candidates.

“We did not nominate our leadership cadres who are currently serving as ministerial positions because they include Pak Airlangga,” he said.

It is known that there are 3 Golkar cadre ministers who currently serve as ministers. Apart from Airlangga Hartarto who served as Coordinating Minister for the Economy, the other two were Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo.

The Golkar party itself arrived at the KPU at around 20.08 WIB. Also attending were the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Golkar Party Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus, Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party for Communication and Information Affairs Nurul Arifin, Airin Rachmi Diany, to Rian Ernest.
