Now it is official: Xiaomi Mi 11 arrives on the market without charger in the package. Today the confirmation on the occasion of the announcement in China. The brand therefore follows what Apple did with iPhone 12, in the name of sustainability (and marketing). Soon it will be the turn of the market leader, Samsung.
No charger in the Xiaomi Mi 11 box
The mobile industry enters a new phase eco friendly, also at the urging of the continental authorities, which have been involved for a long time with the aim of defining a regulatory system capable of ensuring repairability of the devices and reduce the amount of electronic waste generated once smartphones, tablets and computers reach the end of their life cycle.
However, not everyone agrees, including users. Those who don’t already have a compatible charger are forced to budget for one additional expense. And manufacturers may not necessarily reduce the final price of the devices while removing the component from the packaging.
Among the market players, however, some have turned up their noses since the introduction of a universal model it would compromise the possibility of implementing innovative features, starting with fast charging systems, sometimes promoted as exclusive features linked to a specific device.
It may be useful to define one standard, as happened for example with wireless charging and for the Qi interface.
Apple he played in advance, exposing himself to the jeers of competitors who within a few months then decided to review their position and do the same.
