The statue that never came
FC Utrecht provided one of the most memorable escapes in the premier league ever in 1996. Five games before the end, the situation seemed hopeless, but thanks to some important goals from Hans Visser, relegation to the first division was avoided.

Visser nevertheless revives when perhaps the most rowdy season in club history is discussed. The year in which also the trainer Simon Kistemaker, so popular among supporters, had to leave the field early. “It was a memorable year for me personally, it was really great.
