He said that Komnas HAM also found patterns of violence to who the perpetrators of violence in human cages were. According to him, the violence that took place even used tools.

“We also found that the pattern of violence was taking place, who was the perpetrator, how, using tools or not. We also found that there sometimes used tools,” he said.

Anam said the findings of the violence had been submitted to the North Sumatra Police. He hopes that the police will follow up and raise the incident into a legal process because it is very close to a criminal incident.

“We also ask that there is a security approach, there is protection for the various testimonies, the victims who have given information to both Komnas HAM and the Regional Police, so that they are more independent in expressing their opinions, they do not feel pressured,” he said.

“This is important, indeed they are free to voice the number who will provide information whether there was violence, whether they know the loss of life or not, there will be many,” he added.

As is well known, Komnas HAM continues to investigate the human cage incident at the house of the Langkat Regent. Recently, Komnas HAM revealed that in the cage it was found that there were acts of violence that resulted in the loss of life.

“We found that with solid information, there were acts of violence that took their lives and the victims who took their lives were more than one,” said Komnas HAM Commissioner Chairul Anam, in his statement to reporters, Sunday (30/1).

Anam said that Komnas HAM obtained solid information from several witnesses who had been examined. According to him, the witnesses said that there were more than one victim who died as a result of the violence in the cage.
