The term embroidery appears at the end of the 12th century and designates the art of ornamenting fabrics by means of hand-sewn motifs with threads of various colors and textures. The invention of the first embroidery machine which dates back to 1828 will revolutionize this art and today, with computer programming, embroidery has become popular and makes it possible to reproduce a multitude of designs and logos at a lower cost.
Orders in his free time
From the age of 18, Vincent Longen began studying medicine and after a year, he turned to radiology, which is less time-consuming. At the same time, he works as a temporary worker during his holidays: “I discovered different areas, met many people and rubbed shoulders with business leaders”, he explains. The entrepreneurial spirit was not part of the family context and Vincent’s parents, who found him too shy at the time, did not encourage him to develop his first idea of creating a clothing brand.

In 2020, he bought a new industrial embroidery machine, took a small training course in embroidery and created his micro-enterprise “VLT embroidery” in 2021. Today, while continuing to prepare for his state diploma in medical electroradiology at the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand which he will pass in 2023, he carries out embroidery orders.

This side job occupies him part-time. Vincent has no intention of stopping his studies but is taking advantage of his free time to make his embroidery business more reliable and he hopes to be able to develop it sufficiently to ensure his future in this field. In the meantime, he accepts all small embroidery works such as towels embroidered with names or designs, aprons with company logos.
