Central Java Police succeeded in revealing the cause of the couple’s death Handi Saputra Hidayatullah (18) and Salsabila (14), accident victim hit and run in Nagreg whose bodies were found in Banyumas and Cilacap.
The Head of Medicine and Health (Dokkes) of the Central Java Police, Kombes Police Sumy Hastry, said that the victim Handi, whose body was found in Banyumas, was thought to have died from drowning because too much water had entered her lungs.
As for the Salsa victim whose body was found in Cilacap, there were severe injuries to the head with fractures in the skull which were strongly suspected to be fatal wounds.
“For this woman, there were severe injuries on the head from back to front, heavy bleeding and a skull fracture, so it is presumed that she had died at the scene,” Hastry told reporters. CNNIndonesia.com.
“But for the male, we found river water in the respiratory tract to the lungs so that this man died from drowning, and when he was thrown into the river he was still alive or unconscious. If this man’s head wound was there, it was not fatal,” said Hastry. .
Prior to conducting an autopsy, the Central Java Police had identified the wounds by matching primary and secondary data on the bodies of the two victims.
“From the primary data, it’s teeth, fingerprints and DNA. Now we use teeth and DNA because if the fingerprints are damaged. From the data provided by the family, we can finally identify them. From the teeth, the victim took the last photo along with the clothes and bracelets she was wearing. We matched it in the end,” said Hastry, who is also the DVI Team at the National Police Headquarters.
Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Kombes Police Djuhandani Raharjo Puro, stated that the results of the forensic examination will be coordinated with the West Java Police investigators for an in-depth investigation.
“We will coordinate the results with the West Java Regional Police for joint investigations. So this will later be built to find the crime scenes for the murder of the victim, whether in West Java and Central Java, until the identity of the perpetrator emerges. We just pray that this will be revealed quickly”, explained Djuhandani.
Handi and Salsa are a love couple who had an accident in the Nagreg area, Bandung Regency, West Java, last Wednesday (8/12).
In a video circulating on social media, three men in the car that hit the victim’s motorbike came to the two victims and took them in to be taken to the hospital.
After the incident, the victim was reported missing by his family and when traced the victim was never taken to any hospital. Three days later, Handi and Salsa were found dead in the Serayu River in Banyumas and Cilacap.
