Andreas Rühl, Henning Heske and Thorsten Obel head the Krefeld Center for Practical School Teacher Training (ZfsL). They represent the three types of school, grammar school, comprehensive school and vocational college, which award the Abitur. The Schönwasser house, built in the early 19th century as a mansion for a Krefeld tobacco manufacturer, is located in the middle of the Schönwasser Park named after him, which stretches along an old arm of the Rhine to Linn and offers walkers beautiful lines of sight.

Bald cypresses, weeping willows and groups of conifers are reflected in the lake used by model shipbuilders. Not far from there, the Botanical Garden presents over 5000 species of plants from all over the world. “Krefeld has probably the most beautiful teacher training center in all of North Rhine-Westphalia,” enthuses core seminar organizer Heske. “After some modernization measures on the building and technical equipment, we are totally happy here.”
