Immediately after the murder, police admitted that Bezzubov’s killing could be a commissioned murder linked to the victim’s professional activities, while stressing that other versions were being investigated.

On April 14, the head of the state police, Armands Ruks, told reporters that at least three people who fired bullets from an automatic weapon at Bezzubov could be involved in the murder, seriously injuring the man from the beginning, but he was able to continue on the road.
