There are still ballet calendars for 2023

Krefeld and Moenchengladbach. This year, too, ballet fans can bring their ballet ensemble from the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach theaters home with the Society for Ballet and Dance’s new calendar and look forward to an expressive photo from the last season every month.

After working for many years with the photographer Rolf Georges, who retired two years ago, the Italian photographer Caterina Ferrari looked through the camera lens for the first time for the current calendar. She accompanied and photographed the ensemble during rehearsals.

The passion for photography seized the Italian in her childhood. She bought her first camera with her savings at the age of 16. Street photography has always been her main interest, but she became increasingly involved in the art form of dance when her son began dancing at the city’s ballet school. The interest developed into a fascination that is reflected in her photographs. After the first commissions for her son’s school performances, she attended courses in dance photography, including with the renowned ballet photographer Pierluigi Abbondanza.

For seven years she has been the official photographer of the “Stage Internazionale di Danza Città di Verona”, a dance summer course where professional dancers teach the younger generation. And now, thanks to Robert North, Sheri Cook and the Society for Ballet and Dance e . V. the chance to photograph the dancers of the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach Ballet. Ferrari is married and the mother of a daughter living in the Netherlands and a son, Stefano Vangelista, who is a member of the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach Ballet.

The calendar is designed in DIN A3 landscape format and consists of 13 high-quality color photographs. It is offered in a limited number and costs 12 euros. With every purchase, the association becomes the
Ballet friends supported. As usual, the proceeds benefit the ballet company. The calendars are available at the theater box office.
