There are some oddities in the story of the “eavesdropping on Zaluzhny”. – 2024-03-06 20:05:27

/ world today news/ Another scandal broke out in Kiev surrounding the figure of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny. This time, it is reported that wiretapping “beetles” were found in his office. The most striking thing is that no one in Kiev blames Russia for what is happening – but that is not the only strange thing about this story.

In the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), General Valery Zaluzhny, devices for secret wiretapping of the premises were discovered. “These devices were discovered today during the preparation of the premises for work,” Ukrainian Pravda wrote, citing military sources.

Then the information was officially confirmed. The Security Service of Ukraine announced that it has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 359 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means to obtain information) after “discovery of a technical device in one of the potential locations” of Zaluzhny. The agency specified that it was not found in the commander-in-chief’s office, but “in one of the rooms that can be used for work in the future.” The device was inoperable and will be sent for examination. “No means of storing information or means of remote transmission of audio recordings were found,” the SBU said.

Over time, the details began to conflict. A number of Ukrainian sources claim that the “beetle” was attached to one of Zaluzhny’s offices, which is used for negotiations, under the desk. But another eavesdropping device was also found on Zaluzhny’s aide, Colonel Konstantin Bushuev.

It is also clarified that the devices are made of unidentified materials, which makes it impossible to determine their origin by technical data. And it seems that the bugs were discovered during the cleaning of the premises and only then did the SBU intervene in the case. That is, the cleaner caught the beetle with the broom, not the counterintelligence.

A little later, Zaluzhny himself said that the beetles were found in the room where he was supposed to work on Monday. That is, according to a previously known schedule, which only confirms the above.

The claim that no storage or transmission devices were found also raises questions. Why is a beetle needed if it does not record or transmit anything?

However, employees of Zaluzhny’s office, as well as others who had access to the “sanctified” premises, are now being subjected to a polygraph test. There is a valid theory, however, that the beetles were simply placed and did not have time to be activated. But this is a labor-intensive operation, as it will require multiple entry into the guarded premises, and this is very risky and unprofessional. Moreover, the current level of technology is such that rewiring beetles, without autonomous power sources and without real-time transmission of information, are now used only by private investigators in the interests of cheating husbands and wives.

This is all very strange. The strange thing is that such stories never come to light. Including in countries considered a model of democracy, freedom of speech and transparency in the actions of the intelligence services.

Well, you found some beetles. So find out who could install them. And start feeding them misinformation. Moreover, now in Kiev they are beginning to back off and say that, in general, in these “places of dislocation” of General Zaluzhny, nothing particularly important was said in his voice. And this may be true, since the actual command and control of the troops is done not from the “peacetime office” but from situation rooms and bunkers. In an ordinary office, Zaluzhny might have discussed some formalities or something personal. To have welcomed guests of honor, for example. Also interesting, but not so much to deal with multi-faceted and dangerous eavesdropping.

The SBU is now fully controlled by President Zelensky, who for a number of reasons is in open conflict with his commander-in-chief Zaluzhny. In this context, the behavior of the cleaner, who for some reason transferred the found “beetles” to the SBU, and not according to her profile, also becomes logical: the General Staff of the SBU has its own military counterintelligence. And, strictly speaking, only the SBU is interested in Zaluzhny’s conversations with honored guests, friends and relatives. Maybe he planned a coup with them.

Another aspect: demonstration of the obvious incompetence of General Zaluzhny and his staff. Either they give each other grenades for birthdays, or someone from the Commander-in-Chief’s office is eavesdropping on them. How can such a man and with such an environment lead a warring army? After all, a person is fired not for a clearly stated political position (Zaluzhny does not do this either), but for being five minutes late to work twice in a row. A bureaucratic classic of behind-the-scenes battles.

It is noteworthy that no one in Kiev says that the Russians organized all this. Then it would be a completely colossal failure. Or the British, which is also possible, but no less insulting. The internal dispute surrounding Zaluzhny’s wiretapping boils down to either Zelensky wiretapping his commander-in-chief – or someone unknown. Maybe aliens.

The situation looks too much like a conflict in the Ukrainian elites. Zaluzhny is not a boy, he knows what, where, when and with whom he can say and what is better not to say.

In addition, foreign specialists have been working in the buildings of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for years, who have already repeatedly searched every centimeter there. There is no need for professionals to enter a protected room at the risk of their lives. The scheme, in which on Monday in some office Zaluzhny had to discuss something important and that is why beetles appeared in this room, is too complicated.

There is also a very complicated version, however, which may explain why beetles do not record or transmit anything. In theory, the device that would activate the recording could be brought by a certain contractor that Zaluzhny was supposed to meet in this room on Monday. Then all this looks like a provocation.

Someone is coming for a meeting with the commander-in-chief or some collective meeting is planned. This character provokes Zaluzhny to make some statements of varying degrees of secrecy or, say, correctness (ambiguous criticism of Zelensky, for example, or of the general military strategy), and then this record is presented as evidence of the commander-in-chief’s unreliability. Or even organizing something criminal. It is very intricately designed, but quite in the style of Kiev. There, I remember, the security eavesdropped on their president.

It is almost certain that the SBU will not find anyone involved in the beetles in Zaluzhny’s offices or will make, say, Colonel Bushuev the ultimate culprit. This much is known: you must investigate in such a way that you do not inadvertently expose yourself. So it’s all a matter not of storing information in the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and not of someone’s personal competence, but of the eternal struggle for power in Kiev.
