It has been almost a year since Théo Hayez has given any sign of life. Aged 18, this young Belgian had suddenly disappeared during a trip to Australia. Since then, his relatives have been fighting to find out what happened to him.
After several months of silence, the latter have just communicated via a Facebook page dedicated to the search for the young man. It brings together his family but also volunteers who had organized major battles in the seaside resort of Byron Bay, where he was last seen.
In a long message, his relatives return in particular to the reason for their silence. “We are thinking about Theo every minute and would like to share any information that may help us find out what happened to him. But we must be careful about the information we give in order to give the police a better chance. It breaks our hearts every days and we hope they will have information for us soon “, begins the family.
New searches
Relatives of the young Belgian also explain that new searches have taken place. The investigation is continuing and new reports have been examined. Finally, the family is also working on a new communication medium with new posters and a new website. The goal: “find out what really happened that night”.
Théo Hayez, an 18-year-old man from Overijse, has been traveling to Australia since the end of 2018. He was last seen on May 31 in the seaside resort of Byron Bay when he was due to return to Belgium in early June. His phone had been registered by a terminal the next day near the lighthouse in the northeast of the locality.
