The mayors of Ferrolterra, Eume and Ortegal meet at this time in Santiago with the Minister of Economy and Industry to address the state pact for Ferrol that the president of the Xunta announced last week. Appointment at noon with the councilors and from 5:00 pm Conde will meet with the regional leaders of the CCOO, CIG and UGT unions.
This morning the councilor remarked that it is necessary to promote a State pact for a region affected by a series of decisions that affect its productive fabric. Conde has referred to the lack of workload in Navantia, the future closure of the As Pontes thermal power plant and the closure of Siemens Gamesa in As Somozas.
The conselleiro considers that it is essential to reach an agreement between the different administrations, each one in its powers, to energize the territory. Conde hopes that the central government will join this proposal, through the Ministries of Industry and Ecological Transition, as well as the Councils. The councilor has advanced that they will share with the council members the initiatives that the different Consellerias will promote for the region.
The Ferrol government spokesman, Julián Reina, has stressed that institutional collaboration is essential and that they attend the meeting with prudence and expectation that solutions will be put on the table.
