The Wrong Man for The Wrong Job

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Initiator Ummah Party, Amien Rais criticize attitudes Mahfud MD which he considers changed since assuming the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs) under government President Joko Widodo.

Although, he did not explain in detail the form and causes of these changes. It’s just that Amien explained and compared a number of statements made by Mahfud.

“The current Mahfud has indeed changed. Why is that? Wallahualam Bissawab. So, now it is the wrong man for the wrong job. Yes, this is my criticism, “Amien said as quoted in the video recording uploaded through the official Amien Rais Official YouTube account, Sunday (14/3).

The criticism started when Amien touched on the phenomenon of power in Indonesia which, according to him, was being defeated by transnational companies.

In fact, Amien quoted Mahfud’s statement, who had stated that 92 percent of regional head candidates had been funded by donors, mostly cukong. This condition, he continued, then causes frequent policy corruption at the government level.

“Still Mahfud said that the policy corruption is usually forest tenure licenses, mining licenses and other licenses that are more detrimental to the community. So this was Mahfud when he was still good, I think. Still talking honestly. But Mahfud is now somewhat different, far different,” said Amien again.

On that occasion, Amien said that Indonesia has now become a mafia republic. The reason is that according to him, almost all areas of the nation’s life have been controlled by the mafia, which has undermined the line of national life.

“There is a rice mafia, meat mafia, sugar mafia, fertilizer mafia, flour mafia, chili mafia, onion mafia, oil mafia, medicine mafia, gas mafia, tax mafia, and even a sports mafia set the score,” he said.

Amien also highlighted the existence of a legal mafia which he considers dangerous for the survival of the country at this time.

He then recalled that Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) when he served as president had once formed the Legal Mafia Eradication Task Force. However, the Task Force is now discontinued.

“So shining that time. The task force was extraordinary. So the hope of all of us. But 2 years later, God willing, the task force that initially shone, was declared disbanded and did not need to be continued,” he said.

CNNIndonesia.com himself has tried to contact Mahfud regarding Amien Rais’ criticism. However, until this news was broadcast, Mahfud had not yet responded.
