This Meusien, born in Saint-Mihiel at the dawn of the 16th century, remains one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance period. His talent was recognized during his lifetime and he left an abundant production made up of commissions that had been made to him. Most of these achievements are still in Meuse, as evidenced by this route called the Route Ligier Richier at the initiative of the Department of Meuse. But the life of Ligier Richier also illustrates an eventful time, marked by the Reformation to which he adhered.
