The White House is guarded by Biden Klain

“His deep and diverse experience and ability to work with people across the political spectrum is exactly what we need from the White House chief of staff now, as we face a crisis and seek to reunite our country,” Biden commented on Wednesday.

Klain said he felt honored by the appointment. He who is in this position traditionally acts as the president’s “doorman” influencing who gets to the president, and is not subject to Senate approval.

Words about infection and fraud like a boomerang

Klain knows the future president well. He used to be Biden’s right hand in the 1980s, advising him on unsuccessful presidential campaigns in 1988 and 2008. He served as Biden’s HR chief from 2009 to 2011, at the beginning of his vice presidency.

In 2014, he oversaw the Barack Obama administration to tame the Ebola plague, several of which occurred in the United States. In addition to his pre-election collaboration with Biden and Obama, he also participated in the presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton, Al Gore (whose dramatic defeat is the subject of the film), John Kerry and Hillary Clinton.

It was the last collaboration with Biden that temporarily untangled him five years ago, because he joined her team at a time when Biden was still hoping for a party election nomination. Klain wrote to the Clinton team at the time that he was “dead” to Biden’s staff, as an e-mail published later on the WikiLeaks portal showed.

Time has obviously healed the wounds, but Klain’s old remarks have not helped the Democrats much in recent months. Trump liked to report on his critical remarks about how the Obama administration was dealing with the swine flu epidemic between 2014 and 2015. “We did everything wrong,” Klain said in a public debate last year, adding that luck alone did not kill many Americans.

As Trump now refuses to recognize the election result and talks about mass fraud, Klain’s tweet from 2014, in which he responded to a report claiming that most Americans consider the election to be rigged, is also causing a stir. “That’s because they are,” Klain commented.

Biden is currently receiving telephone congratulations from world political leaders. He was called, among others, by Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, to whom the elected president promised to side with Tokyo over the Senkaku archipelago, to which Beijing also claims.

He spoke with South Korean President Mun Zhinin about, among other things, the North Korean nuclear threat. He was also joined by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who had been Trump’s great ally until now.

The Ministry of Congratulations blocks

Foreign leaders must circumvent the usual procedure when contacting Biden. Under normal circumstances, their congratulations to the newly elected president are handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Although there are still messages from world statesmen, Biden will not get to them yet – the Trump administration, which refuses to acknowledge his victory, is blocking their handover, according to CNN.

Money also goes to debt
Trump’s team, meanwhile, is collecting contributions from supporters through calls.
It asks people to contribute to litigation over electoral fraud.
A closer look shows that most of the donated money will go to repaying debts from the campaign.
Another will serve to launch the political organization Save America.
