The viral alert to this fake traffic fine that has set Twitter on fire: “They make up a name and…” – Trending topic

If you drive, you will surely know this situation perfectly and it may have happened to you more than once. you get a fine from a long time ago and you can’t believe what could have happened. The protagonist of this story, Javier Gutierrez who resides in the Community of Madrid, in his case he had to contact the customer service telephone number of his city and he was in for a surprise. Without assimilating what had just happened to him, had no better idea than share it on your personal Twitter account and it has gone viral. At CHAIN 100, we tell you the details!

900 euros for a false traffic violation

As reported by this user (@jggilsanz on Twitter): “A few days ago, I received a complaint at home from the Madrid City Council for a traffic offense and not identifying the driver” and the gift he took was not small: a 900-euro fine. “My surprise was capitalized because I had not been notified of the original violationso I called the 010 phone…” and there began this surreal story that has already accumulated more than 9,500 ‘likes’ and hundreds of comments.

To all this, as Javier continued explaining: “On said telephone, they informed me that someone had received the fine at my home on a certain day and time, but they couldn’t tell me who it was, for data protection. I provided them with the data of the adults who live at home and confirmed that there had been none of them”, so they gave him “an appointment with the Mobility Area of the City Council and as soon as the file was opened…” It was a fraudulent fine!

“As soon as the file was opened, the official told me it was a clearly fraudulent notification. It seems that the post office no longer notifies the traffic fines of the City Council. They are notified by a company that “unexpectedly” the corresponding competition was awarded. They go to the address in question (if they go) and if there is no one they invent a name and a NIF (normally a NIE) and sign (in my case with two lines). They give you notified, the file continues and (in my case) you get a fine of 900 euros for not identifying the driver, in other cases I guess they will come to execute the bank account, etc”.

“The City Council knows it. It seems that there are hundreds of cases. If the sanctioned does not react, 900 euros (or whatever proceeds) and if you react, they give you the original fine and I suppose that the company that notifies you will take a bonus for the high number of correct notifications. And who loses? The citizen who is not notified, who does not have time to take care, who does not know how to do it, etc. Anyway…” A story that has not left anyone indifferent on the social network, with hundreds of reactions like these: “Oysters, this is very serious”, “another state scam. Be careful with this!” or directly that “this makes me remember how happy I am without a car. What a bond that we are not even aware of.”

Other users have taken the opportunity to share very similar experiences, like this one from Hugo (@Huguixxo on Twitter): “This happened to me last year. They gave me a (justified) fine in June but the notification never came. For December, when no one was waiting for herthe letter of end of procedure arrived demanding €200 from me. flipped in colors“. Few stories have left us as surprised as this one. And you? Has something similar ever happened to you?
