The US Is Not Allowed in the European Union

LENGKONG, AYOBANDUNG.COM – The European Union announced the list of countries whose citizens were allowed to enter the 31 member countries of the bloc. But the United States (US) was not included in the list for at least two weeks. This was done because the number of cases of Covid-19 infection in the land of Uncle Sam increased sharply.

The impact of the corona virus pandemic shook Europe hard, a number of southern states such as Greece, Spain and Italy tried hard to attract tourists. They tried to breathe from the tightness of the impact of the pandemic on the tourism industry.

Every year there are an estimated 15 million US citizens who travel to Europe. While around 10 million Europeans cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Many people inside or outside Europe are worried about traveling during the corona virus pandemic. Because uncertainty of a new wave of transmission can have an impact on flights and hotel reservations. In March tens of thousands of tourists could not return because all flights were canceled and the border was closed.

Reporting from the Associated Press, on Tuesday (30/6) EU envoys in Brussels launched a written procedure that was seen as a list of countries as long as no member states refused. The list contains 15 countries whose coronary virus spread is comparable to that of the European Union.

Transmission rates in Brazil, Russia and India are so high that they are also unlikely to be included in the list. Countries that are on the list must also lift a ban on entry for tourists from Europe.

The list of countries that are allowed to enter will continue to be updated every 14 days. There will be new countries added or removed from the list if they cannot hold back the spread.
