Police French found unexpected objects at the suspect’s house who was recording when Presiden Emmanuel Macron slapped by people in public. The unexpected object was a manifesto book of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and several weapons.
The objects were found when the French police searched the house of one of the suspects. The suspect is known to be one of the people who recorded when President Macron was slapped by residents.
As reported by the BBC and the Associated Press, Thursday (10/6/2021), two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident in the small town of Tain-l’Hermitage on Tuesday (8/6) time ago. The first suspect to slap Macron in the face was identified as Damien Tarel, 28.
Tarel, who has no previous criminal record, is expected to be charged with assaulting a public figure. The charges carry a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a maximum fine of 45,000 euros (Rp 780 million).
Then the next suspect was identified as Arthur C who is also 28 years old. Arthur plays the role of recording when the attack is carried out by Tarel. Arthur didn’t have a criminal record either.
The two perpetrators were both from Tain-l’Hermitage. The police then searched the home of the two suspects.
The local prosecutor’s office said that at Arthur’s house, police found a number of weapons, some old books on the art of war, then a copy of Hitler’s manifesto entitled ‘Mein Kampf’ and two flags, with one symbolizing the communists and the other a symbol of the Russian revolution.
Not only that, several weapons were also found at Arthur’s house. Among the weapons found during a search of Arthur’s house were a sword, a dagger and a collector’s rifle in his legal possession. It is not clear whether the weapon can function properly.
